• Neck: Bolt-on, one-piece maple neck with either a maple or rosewood fingerboard and black dot inlays. The headstock features the matching Antigua finish.
• Tuners: Original 4 open-back tuners, positioned all on one side of the headstock.
• Pickup: One original Fender "grey-bottom" split-coil P-Bass humbucking pickup.
• Electronics: The passive electronics typically feature a single volume and a single tone control, with pot codes that usually date to 1979 or sometimes late 1978.
• Pickguard: A large, multi-ply pickguard (often 3-ply or 4-ply, occasionally 5-ply on some late 70s models) also in the matching Antigua finish. It has a 13-hole mounting pattern and a truss rod adjustment notch.
• Hardware: Chrome hardware, including a fixed bridge and two domed chrome control knobs.
